We’re a few months into the year now. We have seen a war inflate prices beyond belief. Our precious RAM, CPU, and hard drive inventories are already sold until 2028. Sadness is in full force as the layoff machine keeps going strong into the rest of 2026.
Let’s predict and see at the end of the year if we are crying more or less.
AI bubble will keep going strong.
The circular spending hasn’t slowed down and neither has my drinking! The bubble holds steady, small cracks are forming but nothing a few more data centers can’t fix. Go ahead, install them everywhere. I’m sure it’ll be fine.
I said we are slop girlies now.
The slop machine grows stronger with each new idea it eats. Creativity is boundful, my loves, but so is the ever-hungry slop machine. Articles keep getting messier, lawyers are citing AI-hallucinated cases, and we’re wasting water generating pictures of ourselves as space marines.
I predict 2026 will increase the slop and make it harder to spot. Time to make everyone multi-authenticate.

Mass layoffs are here again for the 3rd or 4th year. Also, data centers are being blown up, so that also means fewer jobs. Overall, my heart is saying the layoffs will continue until something happens that stabilizes the market, like the bubble bursting.
AI this and AI that.
AI is here to stay but it wants to move into your brain, make you reliant on it. It’s becoming more integrated into our tools and workflows. It’s recording your conversations and rating you like some damn Big Sister. I hate the damn AI creep into my life. Not enough makeup can cover up this 1984 fuckfest.
It’s gonna be everywhere or more everywhere. That’s my sad girl prediction.
Final thought.
I don’t have any sage advice other than to say, try and stay positive. Love one another because we’re all in this together. Networking is your friend but really make friends first before you ask them for a job because that’s hella not cool.
It’s gonna suck before it gets better. But you got this, because you are a bundle of anger, caffeine, and spite. And damn does that not look beautiful.
